Women in Leadership Conference
Monday 22nd January- 2pm-7.30pm
The Postgraduate Women in Academia network will be attending the Women in Leadership Conference at Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union on Monday 22nd January 2018. This annual event aims to inspire confidence in the self-defining women of Sheffield Hallam University, and develop their leadership skills amongst other like-minded women. This year's conference includes a keynote lecture by Dr. Rebecca Wright, who is an international human rights lawyer, UK criminal barrister, and Senior Lecturer in Human Rights Law at SHU. Other speakers include Dr. Clarissa Honeywell, a Senior Lecturer in Politics/ Political Science, whose research interests concern the applied political theory of anarchism, particularly in activist, policy, community and conflict resolution contexts. There will also be several workshops taking place over the course of the event, which focus on issues such as advancing leadership against the stigma of mental health, and the challenges faced by BME women in leadership. Dinner will be provided for attendees.
